Materials and Small Animal Imaging
Dr. Ted Watson is Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering in
the College of Engineering at CSU. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering
from the University of Texas at Austin and PhD from the California Institute
of Technology. Previously, Dr. Watson was Professor and Director of the
Engineering Imaging Laboratory at Texas A&M University. Dr. Watson's
research interests include the development of NMR imaging methods for
quantitative determination of properties and structures of heterogeneous
media. A key element in this research is system and parameter identification
(SPI). One application of current interest is flow through permeable media.

Medical Imaging
Dr. Susan Kraft is Associate Professor of Radiology in Environmental and
Radiological Health Sciences Department of the College of Veterinary Medicine
and Biomedical Sciences. She received her B.S. in biology from University
of Alaska, a D.V.M. and PhD from Washington State University, and is a
Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and also of
ACVR-Radiation Oncology. Dr. Kraft's research interests include magnetic
resonance imaging of cancer, radiation therapy, and neuroradiology. In
particular, she is interested in development of MR and MR spectroscopic
techniques for imaging of tumor hypoxia, tissue perfusion and ischemia.

Dr. Thomas Meersmann is Assistant Professor of Chemistry in Department
of Chemistry of the College of Natural Sciences. He received his diploma
in Chemistry from the Universität Tübingen, Germany and a Ph.D.
from the Université de Lausanne, Switzerland. He has also served
as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory,
Tallahassee, Florida and at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and
University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Meersman's research interests
are NMR spectroscopy, laser enhanced NMR, and use of hyperpolarized gases
in investigating surfaces, porous and heterogeneous materials.
